Measuring What Matters (AKA Don’t Fly Blind)

Before you start make sure to know what is content marketing
If you’re not measuring, you’re just guessing. And guessing is for chumps.
The Stuff That Counts
- Engagement Rate (likes, shares, comments ÷ reach)
- CTR (click-through rate)
- Reach & Impressions
- Follower growth
- Video watch time
- Saves & Shares
Tools: Use what the platform gives you. Also, Google Analytics for links. Or go fancy with Sprout Social, Hootsuite Analytics, Later Analytics.
Audit Your Stuff (At Least Once a Quarter)
- What’s working? What’s getting ignored?
- Are your links working or are they as dead as Vine?
- Does your profile actually look like you’re alive and in 2025?
Ask yourself:
- Which posts actually drive people to your site?
- Which visuals get shared the most?
- Are people finding your contact info, or nah?
Example: A B2B firm ditched their crusty old LinkedIn banners, added video testimonials, and boom—47% more engagement in three weeks.

And there you go. Less robot, more real talk. Hope that helps
Rolling with the Punches: Tweaking Your Game Plan
Look, data isn’t just some boring spreadsheet—it’s basically your GPS. Ignore it, and you’re just wandering around lost.
Let’s say your Reels are popping off way more than those old-school carousels? Cool, crank out more Reels. Why fight the current? If your likes and comments go down the toilet, maybe you’re just posting at the wrong time. Switch it up. Midnight posting? Maybe not the move.
People eating up your how-to posts? Milk it. Spin those into a whole series or toss ‘em up on YouTube and see what happens.
Point is, don’t get stuck in your ways. Flex. Experiment. Rinse and repeat.
Quick story: This home décor brand figured out their Stories were leaving feed posts in the dust. They went all-in on Stories—polls, quizzes, you name it. Result? Triple the interactions and sales shot up 25% on Instagram Shop. Not too shabby, right?
